»Le Concert des Nations«
Baroque Concert
With works by Henry Purcell, Antonio Vivaldi, George Frideric Handel, Jean-Féry Rebel and others
During a period roughly from the end of the 16th century to the middle of the 18th, the Baroque era took on its own individual characteristics across the entire continent of Europe in all areas of the Fine Arts, from fashion through architecture, paining and the visual arts to music and helped define the tastes of an entire epoch with its exuberant, joyful splendour. With »Le Concert des Nations« on 24 April 2016 at 6 p.m. in the Max Joseph Hall of the Residenz in Munich, the Orchestra of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz directed by its Chief Conductor Marco Comin offers a glimpse into the differences yet unifying commonalities of Baroque music across the entire European continent – with works by Henry Purcell (England), Antonio Vivaldi (Italy), Georg Friedrich Handel (Germany) and Jean-Féry Rebel (France).
