Kunst trifft Kunst
From the time of the Sun King, Louis XIV, at the latest, French culture served as a guide and model for other European rulers, including the House of Wittelsbach in Bavaria. Entitled ‘Liaisons françaises’, this special exhibition at the Alte Pinakothek, drawn from the museum’s own rich collection, demonstrates how historical circumstances, dynastic ties and political alliances, as well as fashions and tastes, have shaped the collection of French painting – thereby offering a unique insight into the history of Bavarian-French relations.
The musical world of the 17th and 18th centuries was equally closely linked to France and will be presented on this special evening by members of the orchestra of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz.
Following a brief introduction, you will enjoy live music in the exhibition rooms, which will be open especially for the occasion.
