THE TIME HAS COME
Finally, the time has come! Music has not been heard in the Gärtnerplatztheater for almost 2,000 evenings. No sounds of singing have filled the rooms, no instruments have rung out and there have been no pirouettes and leaps from the dancers. Now the theatrical arts are back and the people's opera house in Munich is buzzing with adrenaline once again!
»Music needs no-one, but everyone needs music«, as the old saying goes. With our opening gala on October 14 and 15, 2017, music will finally be moving back into the Gärtnerplatztheater, coming together to make the 152-year-old traditional building resound again in its full glory to meet one of the most essential of human needs.
You too can be there when our ensemble of 32 soloists, the choir, ballet company, children's choir and our orchestra, along with various surprise guests, join forces to make the Gärtnerplatztheater resonate once again. You can look forward to the most beautiful melodies from the treasure trove of musical entertainment theatre being brought to life under the baton of conductors Anthony Bramall, Michael Brandstätter and Andreas Kowalewitz with, of course, a few surprises too, which we're not revealing to you just for the moment!
