Calling you

Angelika Kirchschlager and Marianne Sägebrecht are world stars who enchant audiences with their appeal and authenticity. Both women are known by the public not only for their artistic work but also for their search for what is essential. Both go their own way and are very difficult to pigeon-hole.

In their programme »Calling you«, the two artists now meet for the first time in a musical and literary evening, conceived by Thomas Kahry, with themes and music that move and link both women. Stories and words that are mainly their own are coupled with songs by composers such as Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms, Erich Wolfgang Korngold, Franz Liszt and Kurt Weill, along with Viennese songs, opera arias, pop songs and songs from musicals.

This is an evening of unexpected encounters and with guests such as the successful young singer Werner Mai. The concert will be accompanied on the piano by the Music Director and Chief Conductor of Vereinigte Bühnen Wien, Koen Schoots, with Andi Tausch alongside him on guitar.
