»Bilder einer Ausstellung«
Inspired by the paintings and drawings of his friend Viktor Hartmann, the Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky in 1874 created his famous piano cycle "Pictures at an Exhibition". Based on the orchestral arrangement of Maurice Ravel, Michael Brandstätter very illustratively explains how a picture turns into music and how a piano work is consummated in colourful orchestral sounds!
