Munich Opera Ball
Munich has always been a place of lavish celebrations, whether the sumptuous festivities of the Electoral Court in the 17th and 18th centuries or the legendary artists’ festivals of the 19th century – originally initiated by Ludwig I – which caused an international sensation, particularly during the Belle Époque.
The Gärtnerplatztheater is continuing this illustrious tradition and promises to deliver a glamorous highlight in Munich’s cultural calendar in May 2027 with the city’s first Opera Ball.
Programme and seating plan
From 7.00 pm, we look forward to welcoming you to the festive atmosphere of the Gärtnerplatztheater.
At 8.00 pm, the gala programme begins, featuring soloists, the ballet, the choir and the orchestra of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz.
At around 9.00 pm, the theatre auditorium transforms into a dance floor. You are also welcome to stroll through the entire theatre and enjoy highlights of musical theatre in the foyer and the orchestra rehearsal room.
