Chorus

Stefan Thomas

Stefan Thomas took his first piano lessons at the age of just four and was a member of the Windsbach Boys' Choir, with many appearances and CD recordings at home and abroad. He then studied at the Vocational University for Music in Altötting, Bavaria, specialising in piano and completed his piano studies in 2006 at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich with Thomas Hitzlberger. In parallel with this, he studied singing with Marilyn Schmiege from 2005 to 2011 and was soon also playing minor roles in productions by the Bavarian Theatre Academy, including Parpignol (»La bohème«) and Lippo (»Street Scene«). After that he studied privately with the Swedish tenor Claes-Håkan Ahnsjö.

Stefan Thomas has been a member of the chorus of Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz since 2009, where he regularly also plays minor solo parts, including performing in the 2013 Fasching Concert and appearing as Puffke (»Der Bettelstudent«), Messenger (»Aida«), Reverend Horace Adams (»Peter Grimes«), Siebel (»Dr. Faust jr.«) and Mr. Erlanson (»A Little Night Music«).
