Sebastian Schwab

The composer and conductor Sebastian Schwab studied conducting, composition, music theory and violin. Since the 2021/2022 season, the scholarship holder of the Conducting Forum has been Principal Kapellmeister at the Bern Opera, before which he was assistant to the General Music Director at the Stuttgart State Opera. He has conducted the Bern Symphony Orchestra, the Stuttgart State Orchestra, the Nuremberg State Philharmonic, the Munich Chamber Orchestra, the Musikkollegium Winterthur, the Stuttgart Philharmonic, the Munich Symphony Orchestra and the Southwest German Philharmonic Orchestra of Constance, among others.

In addition, Sebastian Schwab has composed and arranged for the Badische Staatskapelle Karlsruhe, the Bern Symphony Orchestra, the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, the Stuttgart State Orchestra and the Bielefeld Theatre, among others. His compositional collaboration with the Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis on the song cycle »Echowand« was published by Schott/Wergo and awarded the »Leonhard und Ida Wolf-Gedächtnispreis«.
