Prof. Jens-Malte Fischer

Born in Salzburg, Jens Malte Fischer studied German language and literature, history, musicology and singing in Saarbrücken, Munich and Frankfurt am Main. He was Professor of German Studies, General Literature and Theatre Studies at the University of Siegen and at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. He was a fellow of the Berlin Wissenschaftskolleg and is a full member of the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts, the German Academy for Language and Literature (Darmstadt) and the Academy of Sciences and Literature (Mainz). Jens Malte Fischer is a recipient of the Bavarian Maximilian Order for Science and Art.
