Previn Moore

Previn Moore was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and studied at the School for Creative and Performing Arts there and at Indiana University Bloomington. From 1989 to 1994, he was a member of the ensemble at Lüneburg Theatre and has since then worked on a freelance basis at such venues as Berlin's Theater des Westens, Kassel State Theatre, Leipzig Musical Comedy, Halle Opera House, the St. Gallen Theatre, the Wiener Kammeroper, Graz Opera, the Volksoper in Vienna and at the Bruck an der Leitha Musical Festival.

Roles that he has interpreted include, in the world of opera, Bajazet (»Tamerlano«), Don Ottavio (»Don Giovanni«), Tamino (»Die Zauberflöte«), Nemorino (»L’elisir d’amore«), Ernesto (»Don Pasquale«) and in the field of musicals, Audrey II (»Der kleine Horrorladen«), Fats Waller (»Ain’t Misbehavin’«), Jacob (»La Cage aux Folles«), Magaldi (»Evita«), Ron (»Hair«), Judas and Herod (»Jesus Christ Superstar«).

In 2009, he played a number of roles in »Porgy and Bess« under Nicolaus Harnoncourt at Styriarte Graz and in the subsequent CD production. In 2013 he made his debut at »La Strada Festival« in Graz in »Faces of a Restless Spirit«.

After lecturing at the Hamburg Stage School of Music, Dance and Drama, Previn Moore was appointed Professor of Voice Production and Singing at the Vienna Conservatory Private University in 2005.

He has already appeared at the Gärtnerplatztheater as the Captain in »Anything Goes« and as Herodes in »Jesus Christ Superstar«.
