Özkan Ayik

Özkan Ayik was born in Seydisehir in Turkey and grew up in Istanbul. He studied at Mimar-Sinan University in Istanbul as well as at the John Cranko School in Stuttgart. In the 2008/2009 season, Özkan Ayik joined the Stuttgart Ballet, first as a student and after one year as a member of the ballet corps. In Stuttgart he could be seen in numerous productions like »Nightlight« by Douglas Lee, »No Men’s Land« by Edward Clug, »workwithinwork« by William Forsythe, »La Sacre du Printemps« by Glen Tetley and »Salome« by Demis Volpi. In January 2013 with »down down« he for the first time presented his own choreography with the young choreographers of the Ballets de Noverre, followed in 2014 by the solo »two or three things«. From 2017 to 2019 he was a member of the company at Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz.
