Monika Gruber has been one of the country’s most successful cabaret artists for many years. During this time, Monika Gruber was a member of the ensemble at the Iberl-Bühne in Solln near Munich from 2000‒2005. She wrote her first cabaret solos in 2004 as the waitress Monique. Her breakthrough came in 2006 with her second stage solo »Hauptsach g’sund«. This has been followed by numerous other extremely successful solo programmes (»Zu wahr, um schön zu sein« 2008, »Wenn ned jetzt, wann dann?« 2011, »Irgendwas is’ immer« 2014, »Wahnsinn« 2017, »Ohne Worte« 2020) and duo programmes (»Best of Beide« with Michael Niavarani 2012, »Küss’ die Hand« with Viktor Gernot 2016), most of which have also been released on CD and DVD.

»Die Gruaberin« has been filling concert halls with her performances for many years and regularly appears on television (including »Kanal fatal«, »Grünwald Freitagscomedy«, »Der Kaiser von Schexing«, »Hubert und Staller«, »München 7«, »Die Klugscheißer«, »Leute, Leute«, »Verstehen Sie Spaß«, »Nuhr im Ersten«) and in cinema films (including »Eine ganz heiße Nummer« 2011, »Vatertage« 2012, »Winterkartoffelknödel« 2014, »Das Pubertier« 2016, »Bayern Sagenhaft« 2017, »Rehragout-Rendezvous« 2023). The book »Backstage« followed in 2022 and the bestseller »Willkommen im falschen Film« (again with Andreas Hock) in 2023.
