Assistance to the Ballet Director

Lieke Vanbiervliet

Lieke Vanbiervliet was born in Ghent in Belgium and studied dance at the Koninklijke Balletschool Antwerpen, the Rambert Dance School in London and the Rotterdam Dance Academy. In 2003 she danced in the production »What Planet Are You Living On?« at Mind The Gap in Cologne as part of a guest engagement.

In the 2004/2005 season, Lieke Vanbiervliet was engaged as a junior dancer at Staatstheater Braunschweig. At the start of the 2005/2006 season, she became a permanent member of the ballet, where she danced in works choreographed by Hans Henning Paar, David Williams and Marco Goecke, among others. In 2007, she moved to Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, where she danced in such works as Forsythe's »Trio«, Goecke's »Sweet Sweet Sweet«, Christian Spuck's »Sleepers Chamber« and in leading roles in Paar's »Copy Coppelia«, »Die Winterreise« or Karl Alfred Schreiner's »Dornröschen«.

She has been assistant of the ballet director since the 2022/2023 season.
