Kerstin Ibald

The German actress and singer Kerstin Ibald started playing the piano at the age of just 5 and took her first singing lesson when she was 13. From 1998 to 2002 she studied at the Conservatory of the City of Vienna, during which time she also sang leading roles in musicals such as »The Secret Garden« and »Me and My Girl«.

This was followed by numerous prizes for piano playing, singing and acting and initial engagements, for example, in »The Marx Brothers – Ruhe am Set« in Klagenfurt, in »Cabaret« at Baden City Theater and in »Das Dschungelbuch« in the Renaissance Theatre in Vienna.

Kerstin Ibald's stage work in the years after graduating has covered roles in »Jekyll & Hyde« and »Forbidden Ronacher« at Vereinigte Bühnen Wien and in »Tutanchamun« at the Gutenstein Festival and in Cairo and Alexandria. She has also played such roles as Bobby/Gabby (»City of Angels«) at the Ettlingen Castle Festival, Countess Esterhazy and Archduchess Sophie (»Elisabeth«) at Vienna's Theater an der Wien, Vivian Moore (»Footloose«) at the Amstetten Musical Summer, Lorraine (»Dracula«) at the Halle Opera House, Hotcheb (»Moses – Die 10 Gebote«) at the St. Gallen Theatre and Beatrice and Mrs. Danvers in the world premiere of »Rebecca« in Vienna, and also at the St. Gallen Theatre and in the Palladium Theatre in Stuttgart.

In Vienna, she has also appeared on stage with her musical entertainment programme »Mitten ins Herz« and has, among other things, duetted with Udo Jürgens on his CD »Es lebe das Laster«. She made her debut at the Gärtnerplatztheater as Baroness Bomburst in »Tschitti Tschitti Bäng Bäng«.
