Joseph Steinkühler

Born in Oberaudorf, Joseph Steinkühler received his first cello lessons from his father as a child. He began his studies as a junior student at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with Heidi Litschauer while still at the music grammar school in Rosenheim. In 2000, he transferred to the Munich Academy of Music in the class of Helmar Stiehler, where he first completed his artistic diploma examination and then the master class. He gained orchestral experience with the Philharmonic Orchestra in Munich (academy member), Essen and Stuttgart. He has been a cellist at the Gärtnerplatztheater in Munich since 2012.
