Choreography

Jeroen Verbruggen

Jeroen Verbruggen trained as a dancer at the Royal Belgian Ballet School in Antwerp and at the National Ballet School of Canada. He won several prizes during his training, both as a dancer and for his first choreographies. After engagements with the Royal Ballet of Flanders and the Ballet d’Europe in Marseilles, he became a member of les Ballets de Monte Carlo in 2004, where he danced under the direction of Jean-Christophe Maillot until 2014. At the same time, he repeatedly choreographed his own works, including for Belgian national television and the Monaco Dance Forum. Since 2014, he has focussed exclusively on his work as a choreographer, creating a new interpretation of »The Nutcracker« for Le Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève as well as »L'Enfant es les Sortilèges« in Monte Carlo and »Sleeping Beauty« in Leipzig. Most recently, he has worked with the Slovenian National Ballet and the Nuremberg Ballet, among others.
