Fritz Winter
Fritz Winter, born in Wolnzach, gained his first musical experience as a seven-year-old in the local brass band. While still at school, he was a junior student at the Leopold Mozart Conservatory in Augsburg with Hans-Jörg Profanter. After graduating from high school, he studied at the Munich Academy of Music with Michael Stern, where he graduated with a master class diploma and a diploma as a sports teacher. In 1993 Fritz Winter was deputy principal trombonist in the Augsburg Philharmonic Orchestra, and since 1994 he has been principal trombonist at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz. As a permanent member of “German Brass”, Fritz Winter is an “Echo-Klassik” award winner.
