Ferdinand Dörfler

Ferdinand Dörfler was born in Munich and trained at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Art in Berlin. He subsequently worked at the Staatschauspiel Dresden, the Theater Augsburg, the Stadttheater Klagenfurt, the Theater Baden-Baden, the Nationaltheater Weimar, the Schauspiel Stuttgart, the Schwäbisch Hall, Feuchtwangen and Garmisch-Partenkirchen Theatre Festivals, the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg and the Berliner Ensemble. His most important roles include, for example, the title roles in »Macbeth«, »Jedermann«, »Wilhelm Tell« and »Der Schinderhannes« as well as Graf Wetter vom Strahl (»Das Käthchen von Heilbronn«), Thoas (»Iphigenie auf Tauris«), Talbot (»Die Jungfrau von Orléans«), Knieriem (»Der böse Geist Lumpazivagabundus«) and Lopachin (»Der Kirschgarten«). In musical theatre he has already appeared on stage as Tevje in »Fiddler on the Roof«, as Captain Stone in »Die Blume von Hawaii« and in several roles in »The Black Rider«. With the Hungarian ensemble »Kretakör« he performed in »Phaidra« at the Salzburg Festival and at festivals in Zurich, Wroclaw and Budapest. He has worked with directors such as Hasko Weber, Irmgard Lange, Johan Simons, Tina Lanik, Philip Tiedemann, Árpád Schilling, Elias Perring, Klaus D. Kirst and Tobias Wellemeyer.

Since 1996 he has appeared regularly in television productions such as Tatort«, »Der Alte«, »Die Rosenheim Cops«, »Polizeiruf 110 – Frau Schrödingers Katze«, »München 7«, »Maximilian«, »Ku’damm 56«, »Marie fängt Feuer«, »Der Pass«, »Die Chefin«, »München Mord« and »Pan Tau«. He also appeared in the feature films »Sommer in Orange« by Marcus H. Rosenmüller, »Weißbier im Blut« by Jörg Graser and »Willi und die Wunderkröte« by Markus Dietrich. He has worked in numerous radio play productions for Bayerischer Rundfunk, SWR and Deutschlandradio, among others.
