Eunyoung Park
Eunyoung Park was born in Seoul, South Korea. She received her first viola lessons at the age of ten. At the age of 16, she was accepted as a junior student for viola in Mikhail Moullerʼs class at the Detmold University of Music. She then studied at the University of Music in Freiburg with Wolfram Christ and graduated as the youngest student with a diploma and a concert exam with distinction. From 2007 to 2009, she was a scholarship holder at the Orchestra Academy of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra.
Eunyoung Park has won several prestigious international competitions, including the International Viola Competition »Festival Bled« in Slovenia (2005), the International Johannes Brahms Competition in Pörtschach, Austria (2005), the Dong-A Music Competition in Seoul, South Korea (2006) and the Carl Flesch Academy in Baden-Baden (2006), where she performed William Waltonʼs Viola Concerto as a soloist with the Baden-Baden Philharmonic Orchestra.
Since 2010, she has been a permanent member of the orchestra of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz. She also regularly performs as a guest musician with renowned orchestras such as the Munich Philharmonic, the Munich Radio Orchestra, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Bavarian State Orchestra.
