Eike Onyambu

Eike Onyambu was born in Nairobi/Kenya and grew up in northern Germany. He began playing the violin at an early age and played in international orchestra competitions. During his school years he participated in the youth choir at the Theatre for Lower Saxony in »Doktor Faust« and »Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny«, in addition he sang at the opera at Warberg Castle and acted at the Braunschweig State Theatre. He studied acting at the Music and Art University of Vienna and took singing lessons with Cornelia Horak at the same time. While still a student, he sang Tamino in »Die Zauberflöte« at the St. Gilgen Children’s Music Festival.

After graduating, he continued his vocal training with Andreas Bongard and Thomas Maxeiner. He embodied Romeo in the world premiere of the musical »Romeo & Julia ‒ Aufbruch in eine neue Welt« at the Musicalsommer Winzendorf and Henri in »Der Opernball« directed by Peter Lund at the Operette Langenlois. Since 2022 he has been engaged at the Grips-Theater Berlin, where his roles have included Bambi in the new production of the cult musical »Linie 1«. He gained film experience as Tam Amber in the Hollywood production »The Hunger Games ‒ The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes« (director: Francis Lawrence).
