Cornelius Mayer
Cornelius Mayer received his first musical training at the Regensburger Domspatzen music school. At the same time, he gained orchestral experience very early on in the Bavarian State Youth Orchestra, working with conductors such as Robin Ticciati, Andrés Orozco-Estrada and Mariss Jansons. After completing his studies with Roland Glassl at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main in 2013, he graduated from the Bavarian State Opera's Orchestra Academy. There he became acquainted with a broad selection of the opera repertoire and received significant inspiration from Kirill Petrenko and Ivor Bolton, among others. Since 2015, he has been principal violist in the orchestra of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz and is also regularly active as a chamber musician.
