Christopher Taub

Christopher Taub was born in Nuremberg. He studied timpani and classical percussion at the former Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich and at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater with Arnold Riedhammer, Peter Sadlo and Raymond Curfs. At the age of 17, he was already playing as a substitute with the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra and was later accepted into their academy. His teachers there included Arnold Riedhammer, Guido Rückel and Stefan Gagelmann. This was followed by internships and temporary contracts with the Augsburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the orchestra of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz and the Munich Radio Orchestra. Since the beginning of the 2014/2015 season, Christopher Taub has been engaged as coordinated 1st solo timpanist in the orchestra of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz.
