Birgit Seifart-Bernoulli

Birgit Seifart was born in Cape Town (South Africa). At the age of 18, the violinist won the worldwide ABRSM scholarship, which enabled her to complete her bachelor's degree and postgraduate studies in chamber music in England. There she took part in master classes with the Endellio, Belcea, Keller, Sibelius, Sorrell, New Zealand, Artis and Heine Quartets, among others, and had lessons with Leland Chen, Thomas Riebl, Christian Altenburger, Joshua Bell and Alberto Lysy. She subsequently passed her orchestral diploma with Ulrich Gröner in Zurich with distinction. As a passionate orchestral musician, Birgit Seifart has played in many orchestras as an academy member and trainee, including the Zurich Opera Orchestra, the Bern Symphony Orchestra and the Staatskapelle Berlin. She has also played in the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, the Konzerthaus Orchester Berlin and the NDR Symphony Orchestra Hamburg and was a member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra. She has been a member of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz orchestra since 2012.
