Alexander Boruvka

Born in Dresden, Alexander Boruvka received his first horn lessons from Otto Schmitz at the age of 11. At the age of 17, he began his horn studies as a junior student with Wolfgang Gaag at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich and later studied with Klaus Schuhwerk in Mainz. After various temporary contracts, including at the Aalto-Theater Essen, the Staatsphilharmonie Nürnberg and the Staatskapelle Halle, Alexander Boruvka has been a permanent member of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz orchestra since 2007. He has also performed in various Munich orchestras such as the Munich Radio Orchestra, the Munich Chamber Orchestra and the KlangVerwaltung Orchestra and is a member of the brass ensemble “Bavarian Chamber Brass”.
