Soloist

Sigrid Hauser

Born in Vienna, she studied musical theatre at the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts and the Vienna Conservatory. She soon began writing her own lyrics and initially worked for Austrian television, collaborating with the musical comedy group »Tietzes«, among others. For several years, she was also engaged at the »Simpl« cabaret in Vienna, where she acted, sang, directed, and wrote her first two musical revues ‒ and where she continues to work as a writer to this day.

Engagements in musicals, operettas, and revues have taken her to cities such as Zurich, Bern, Lucerne, St. Gallen, Davos, Hamburg, Berlin, Düsseldorf, and Dresden, as well as to the Vienna Volksoper, the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien, the Mörbisch Lake Festival, the Graz Opera, the Stadttheater Baden, the Vienna Volkstheater, and the Theater in der Josefstadt. Sigrid Hauser has since staged four solo shows and also performs as a singer at gala concerts and as a presenter. In addition, she frequently works as a studio singer and voice-over artist, as well as an actress for film and television.

At the Vienna Volksoper, this versatile artist appeared in roles such as the title character in »Hello, Dolly!« and in »A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum«, as well as Adelaide in »Guys and Dolls« and Anhilte in »Die Csárdásfürstin«. Most recently, she performed there as Madame Dindon in »La Cage aux Folles« and made her debut as the first »Mrs Frosch« in »Die Fledermaus«. At the Gärtnerplatztheater, her roles included Josepha (»Im weißen Rössl«), Erma (»Anything Goes«), Baroness Bomburst (»Chitty Chitty Bang Bang«), Carla Schlumberger (»Die Zirkusprinzessin«), Njegus (»Die lustige Witwe«), Desirée Armfeldt (»A Little Night Music«), Ruth (»The Pirates of Penzance«), and Frau Calabré in the world premiere of »Drei Männer im Schnee«.
