Robert Schweer

Robert Schweer was born in Berlin, where he completed his studies in theatre and event technology. He then spent three years as workshop and production manager at Theater Basel.

Since then, he has worked as a freelance set designer with directors such as Stephan Rottkamp, Lars-Ole Walburg, Markus Bothe, Mina Salehpour, Dirk Schmeding, Geertje Boeden, Tilo Nest and André Bücker at venues including the Thalia Theater and the Schauspielhaus Hamburg, the Schauspiel Frankfurt, the Schauspielhaus Hannover, the Münchner Kammerspiele, the Zürcher Schauspielhaus, the Theater Basel, the Luzerner Theater, the Residenztheater München, the Berliner Ensemble, the Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf and Bochum, the Det Norske Theatret in Oslo, the Schauspiel Graz, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Volksoper Wien, the Staatsoper and the Staatsschauspiel Stuttgart, the Oper Köln, the Oper Mannheim, the Semperoper and the Staatschauspiel Dresden, and the Staatsoper Wien.

He was also part of the artistic team responsible for the opening of Chemnitz 2025, European Capital of Culture.
