Lilly Rottensteiner
Lilly Rottensteiner was born and raised in Styria and graduated with distinction from the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK) in 2022. After receiving the special jury prize at the Walter Jurmann Singing and Interpretation Competition in 2021, she made her debut at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz under the direction of Josef E. Köpplinger, performing as Baroness Bomburst in »Chitty Chitty Bang Bang«. Since then, she has appeared on the Gärtnerplatztheater stage in »A Little Night Music«, »Drei Männer im Schnee« and »My Fair Lady«. In the world premiere of Thomas Zaufkeʼs and Peter Lundʼs »Lizzy Carbon«, she portrayed the character of Sara at the Theater der Jugend in Vienna. At the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien, she performed under the direction of Alex Balga in »Jesus Christ Superstar« at the Raimund Theater; in the concertante production of »Elisabeth«, directed by Gil Mehmert, in front of Schönbrunn Palace; and most recently in »The Phantom of the Opera« as Cover Carlotta Guidicelli and Swing, also at the Raimund Theater. She also held workshops for the VBW Junges Musical and Tawumm!, led the sing-along at the »VBW Musicalfest« in 2024 and 2025 and moderated the »VBW Education Day« in 2026. At the Musicalsommer Amstetten, she played Widow Mehlwurm and the Old Lady in the world premiere of »Augustin – the Musical« as well as Claire in the Take That musical »The Band«, both directed by Alex Balga. In 2025, she received 1st prize from the jury, along with eight special prizes from various theatres, at the MUT Competition of the Gärtnerplatztheater. Since autumn 2026, she has been a permanent member of the ensemble at the Kabarett Simpl in Vienna and appears in the Simpl revue »Alles bleibt anders – Ein Rückschritt in 20 Fortschritten«.
