Andrés Agudelo

The Colombian tenor Andrés Agudelo graduated from the Universidad Central in Bogotá and later from La Maîtrise Notre-Dame de Paris, the Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique de Paris, and the Queen Sofia School of Music in Madrid. In 2017, he was nominated by conductor David Stern for the Opera Studio (Opera Fuoco) in Paris. From 2019 to 2021, he was a member of the Opera Studio at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich.

In the 2025/26 season, Andrés made his role debut as Rodolfo (»La bohème«) at the Glyndebourne Festival in the UK, followed by his debut as Edgardo in »Lucia di Lammermoor« in France, in productions at the Opéra de Rennes and the Opéra de Nantes. He also appeared as Rodolfo in »La bohème« at the Teatro Mayor in Bogotá. In addition, Andrés returned to the Bavarian State Opera as Beppe in Leoncavallo’s »Pagliacci«.

In the 2024/25 season, Andrés sang Alfredo in »La traviata« at the Glyndebourne Opera House. He made his debut as the tenor soloist in Verdi’s »Requiem« with the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra and appeared as Pong in Turandot«, Beppe in Pagliacci«, and Gastone in »La traviata«, all at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich.

Recent projects include his role debut as Il Conte Almaviva (»Il barbiere di Siviglia«) at Teatro Verdi in Salerno, as well as his role debut as Alfredo (»La traviata«) at Opera Darmstadt. At the Opéra de Toulon, Andrés appeared as Beppe (»Pagliacci«) and sang Harry (»La fanciulla del West«), Heinrich (»Tannhäuser«), the Officer (»Ariadne auf Naxos«), the Messenger (»Aida«), and Gastone (»La traviata«) at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich. On the concert stage, he has performed at Theater an der Wien and with the MDR Symphony Orchestra Leipzig in Estévez’s Cantata Criolla.

Solo performances include Beethoven's 9th Symphony with the Young Symphonic Orchestra of Colombia, Mozart's »Requiem« with the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Patrick Fournillier, »Vesperae solennes de confessore« with the Paris Chamber Orchestra under Arianne Matiakh, and Dvořák's »Stabat Mater« with L'Atelier des Songes in Paris. He also performed Bach’s »Mass in B minor« under David Stern at the Philharmonie de Paris and the Shanghai Symphony Hall. In 2015, he was engaged as a soloist in the Colombia–Venezuela Jubilee Concert, performing Beethoven's »Choral Fantasy« under Gustavo Dudamel at the Teatro Mayor in Bogotá. In 2019, he was a guest at the closing festival of the Bachfest Leipzig, performing Bach’s »Mass in B minor« at the Thomaskirche.

Andrés is the recipient of several awards, including the Thierry Mermod Prize as the best student of the Opera Academy at the Verbier Festival (2018), the Alejandro Gutiérrez Medal from the Caldas-Colombian government (2017), as well as several prizes throughout Latin America.
