We (Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz) as website operators endeavour to design the website in accordance with the relevant accessibility regulations. The accessibility requirements are based on Section 3 (1) to (4) and Section 4 of the Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0), which was enacted on the basis of Section 12d of the Act on the Equality of Persons with Disabilities (BGG) and the Bavarian E-Government Ordinance (BayEGovV), taking into account the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2.

STATUS OF COMPLIANCE WITH REQUIREMENTS
This website is not fully compliant with the accessibility regulations applicable to us.
The content listed below is not yet accessible for the following reasons:
- Most of the embedded YouTube videos uploaded before November 2024 do not have subtitles. Some videos that require audio description due to their content do not have audio description available.
- No transcripts or other text alternatives are provided for audio content.
- In many places, the contrast ratio is insufficient. There is an option to activate a black and white mode.
- Words and paragraphs in other languages are not marked.
- The website offers a read-aloud function and font size and formatting options; however, these must be activated independently using the Eye Able Tool.
- There is no website version in easy language or German sign language.
- The usability of the website without a mouse has not yet been fully optimised.
EVALUATION METHOD
The accessibility of the Gärtnerplatztheater website at https://www.gaertnerplatztheater.de is based on self-tests (based on the BIK BITV test) and evaluation by the Eye Able agency.
IN PROGRESS
The website will undergo a thorough review of digital accessibility in 2026 and will be revised in accordance with WCAG 2.2 and BITV 2.0 guidelines.

Upon receiving your request, the State Office will check whether measures need to be taken by the website operator.
