PLAY WITH MUSIC FOR NARRATOR AND INSTRUMENTAL ENSEMBLE
by Elisabeth Naske
Based on the children's book
by Mira Lobe and Susi Weigel
A small, colourful stuffed animal wants to know who it actually is. In search of its identity, it walks through a meadow of flowers and meets various other animals, from frogs and fish to hippos and parrots - but no one knows the answer. Although it looks a bit like everyone, it doesn't really resemble anyone. Just as the colourful little animal begins to doubt its very existence, it is struck by a lightning bolt of realisation: ‘I am me!’
Elisabeth Naske set ‘Das kleine Ich-bin- Ich’ to music in 2001 in a versatile and colourful way and at the same time as an entertaining introduction to the wonderful sensory world of music.
