Thomas Hohler

At the age of just 11, Thomas Hohler played the lead child role of Gavroche in »Les Misérables«. Even before completing his Abitur, he was crowned national winner of »Jugend musiziert« and received an encouragement award at the »Bundeswettbewerb Gesang« in Berlin, and went on to study at the Berlin University of the Arts.

His first major role was the leading role of d’Artagnan in »3 Musketeers« at the Apollo Theatre in Stuttgart. This was followed by roles in, amongst others, »Hair«, »Jesus Christ Superstar«, Hape Kerkelingʼs »Kein Pardon«, Michael Bully Herbigʼs »Der Schuh des Manitu«, »Shrek«, »Flashdance«, »The Last Five Years«, »Spamalot« and »Rebecca«.

In »Elisabeth«, Thomas Hohler appeared as Crown Prince Rudolf and as Luigi Lucheni on tour in Germany and Shanghai; he was also the first Belgian to play Rudolf in Antwerp. He played Emanuel Schikaneder and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in »Mozart!« in Duisburg and Shanghai. On tour in Germany, he played Tobi in the Wolfgang Petry musical »Wahnsinn!« and Dimitri in »Anastasia« in Stuttgart. In »Ghost«, he played the title role of Sam Wheat. He played Wilhelm Jerusalem in the world premiere of »Goethe!« and Guy von Gisbourne in »Robin Hood«, with music by Chris de Burgh and Dennis Martin, in Fulda; Robin Blake in »Lady Bess« at the Theatre St. Gallen; and Anastasius in »Die Päpstin«. He also appeared as Mark Cohen in »Rent«, Marius in »Les Misérables«, Rob Cole in »El Medico« (Macías/Amador), and played Matteo in the world premiere of the Howard Carpendale musical »Hello! Again?« by Thomas Herrmanns, as well as the title role in the German-language premiere of »Mrs Doubtfire« in Düsseldorf.
