Réka Kristóf

The Hungarian soprano has been a member of the ensemble at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz since the 2025/26 season and will also be appearing as Santuzza (»Cavalleria Rusticana«) at the Staatstheater Darmstadt in the 2026/2027 season.

As a freelance singer, she has appeared at numerous opera houses and festivals both at home and abroad. She has performed at the Bavarian State Opera as the milliner in R. Strauss’s »Der Rosenkavalier« under the baton of Kirill Petrenko, and as Charlotte in Křenek’s »Der Diktator« under the baton of Karsten Januschke.

She also made guest appearances as Marzelline (»Fidelio«) at the Landestheater Bregenz and as the First Lady (»Die Zauberflöte«) at the St. Margarethen Opera Festival. Working as a freelancer from 2021 to 2025, she appeared as Arminda (»La finta giardiniera«) at the Staatstheater Karlsruhe, the Aalto Theatre Essen, the Landestheater Salzburg and the Staatstheater Mainz, as Zsuzsika (»Hochzeit im Fasching«) and Susanna (»Le nozze di Figaro«) at the Hungarian State Opera in Budapest, as Agathe (»Der Freischütz«) at the Theater Koblenz, as the Countess at the Wuppertal Opera, as Micaëla (»Carmen«) at the State Opera in Banská Bystrica, as Mimì (»La bohème«) und Tosca on tour in Japan and as Viclinda (»I Lombardi«, including CD recording) at the Prinzregententheater in Munich.

Immediately after completing her studies, she was engaged by the Trier Theatre (until 2021), where she appeared on stage in roles including Donna Elvira, Frau Fluth, the Countess Almaviva, Hanna Glawari, Poppea, the Field Marshal’s Wife and in Poulenc’s mono-opera »La voix humaine«.

She made her debut at the Gärtnerplatztheater in 2023 as Donna Elvira and returned in 2024 as Micaëla. She has been under contract here as a member of the ensemble since 2025 and sung here Erste Dame (»Die Zauberflöte«), Firordiligi (»Così fan tutte«), Jaroslawna (»Fürst Igor«), Donna Anna (»Don Giovanni«), Micaëla (»Carmen«), Gräfin Almaviva in the world premiere of Johanna Dodererʼs »Der tollste Tag« and as Gräfin Almaviva in Mozarts »Figaros Hochzeit«.

Her debut CD »In furore« was released in 2019, featuring sacred motets by Antonio Vivaldi and George Frideric Handel, which was nominated for the German Record Critics’ Award in the category »Classical Lied / Vocal Recital«.

She has won several awards and has been awarded scholarships by the Wagner Association, the Hasse Society and the German Theatre Association. In the summer of 2018, she completed her opera studies at the August Everding Theatre Academy in Munich. She is currently pursuing a PhD at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music and volunteers as Chair of the Johann-Adolph-Hasse-Gesellschaft München e. V.
