Niklas Mallmann

The bass baritone Niklas Mallmann began his musical training as a member of the Tölz Boys' Choir and appeared with them at various opera houses under the baton of Claudio Abbado, Sigiswald Kuijken and James Levine as Child Spirit (»Die Zauberflöte«) and Esquire (»Parsifal«). He later sang in the men's choir of the Tölz Boys' Choir where he regularly took on solo parts, including Lycon in Henry Maunder's »The Martyrs« or the baritone part in Cherubini's Requiem. Concert tours took him throughout Europe, America and Asia.

After successfully completing his bachelor's studies in machine engineering at Technische Universität München, Niklas Mallmann in 2014 switched to Munich's Hochschule für Musik und Theater where he has since been studying singing under Frieder Lang. In the same year, he sang the role of the Third Captain in Bernd Alois Zimmermann's »Die Soldaten« under Kirill Petrenko at Bayerische Staatsoper.
