Lukas Enoch Lemcke
Lukas Enoch Lemcke is from Regensburg and received his initial training with, amongst others, the Regensburger Domspatzen and the tenor Brent Lee Damkier. In 2017, he began studying on the preparatory course at the City of Vienna’s Private University of Music and the Arts under Manfred Equiluz, and in 2022 he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree, awarded ‘summa cum laude’. This was followed by a Master’s degree under Karlheinz Hanser at the University of Music and Performing Arts, also in Vienna. He also received musical guidance from Helga Mayer-Wagner, Helge Dorsch, Christiane Iven, KS René Pape, KS Evgeny Nesterenko, Michael Kraus, Andrea Mastroni, Justus Zeyen and Helmut Deutsch.
On the concert stage, he has appeared in J.D. Zelenka’s »Missa Nativitatis Domini«, Pietro Mascagni’s »Messa di Gloria«, Schubert’s »Mass in B flat major«, and, in Konstanz, in the title role of Mendelssohn’s »Paulus« with the Konstanz Symphonic Choir, as well as in Bach’s »Weihnachtsoratorium «, the »St Matthew Passion« (Words of Jesus) and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony at the Tyrolean Festival in Erl. In Erl, he also appeared in several staged productions: as the Second Knight of the Grail in »Parsifal« under Asher Fisch alongside Jonas Kaufmann in the title role, as the Marchese d’Obigny in »La traviata« and as the Conte Ceprano in »Rigoletto«.
Recital tours have taken him to Vienna, Regensburg and the Breisgau region, as well as to the Vatican and the Hohe Tauern Festival in Mittersill, accompanied by Justus Zeyen on the piano. In his debut at the Schubertiade in Hohenems, he performed songs by Schubert, Wolf and Loewe alongside Helmut Deutsch. Together with the pianist Manfred Schiebel, he released his first CD in 2024 featuring art songs by Schubert, Loewe, Wolf and R. Strauss on the Preiser Classics label.
In March 2024, he made his debut at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe in the role of Sarastro. He also appeared in »Die Zauberflöte« at the Saarpolygon Opera Festival. In the 2021/22 season, he made his debut at the Vienna State Opera and has since sung in several productions there, including Monteverdi’s »Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria« and the title role in Ludger Vollmer’s opera »Tschick«.
In October 2022, Lukas Enoch Lemcke was awarded the Gottlob Frick Medal at the celebrations marking the theatre’s 25th anniversary and provided the musical opening to the ceremony. In 2023, he was a prize-winner at the Ada Sari Competition and came second in the Anneliese Rothenberger Competition.
Since the 2023/24 season, he has been a member of the ensemble at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, where he has since appeared in roles such as Sarastro (»Die Zauberflöte«), Alidoro (»La Cenerentola«), Prof. Würmchen (»Der Vogelhändler«) and Bogdanovich (»The Merry Widow«), Leporello (»Don Giovanni«), Zuniga (»Carmen«), Antonio in the world premiere of Johanna Doderer’s »Der tollste Tag«, Herr Schlendrian (»Coffee Cantata«), Skula (»Fürst Igor«) and Dottore Grenvil (»La traviata«).
