Louis Vandory

Louis Vandory was born in Munich in 1999 and, at the age of eleven, was accepted as a young student into Sonja Korkeala’s violin class at the Munich University of Music and Performing Arts. Since 2017, he has been studying there in Julia Fischer’s class and has received viola tuition from Nils Mönkemeyer. In chamber music ensembles, he performs regularly on both instruments at home and abroad with artists such as Julia Fischer, Nils Mönkemeyer, Daniel Müller-Schott, Christian Poltera, Yulianna Avdeeva and the Goldmund Quartet. As a soloist, Vandory has performed with, amongst others, the Munich Symphony Orchestra, the Prague Chamber Orchestra, the Dresden Philharmonic, the Kammerakademie Potsdam and the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen. Since January 2026, he has held the post of principal violist in the orchestra of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz and regularly appears in this role as a guest with renowned orchestras in Germany, such as the Munich Chamber Orchestra, the Hamburg State Philharmonic Orchestra, the BR Symphony Orchestra and the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne.
