Laura Schneiderhan
Austrian actress, singer and voice artist Laura Schneiderhan grew up in Munich and trained as an actress with Michael Mohapp, Mona Seefried, Kirk Baltz (USA), Susan Batson (USA), Cloe Xhauflaire (Belgium), Fiona Graham (UK) and Beate Maes, among others. She also graduated with honours from Regine Köblerʼs classical singing and dramatic performance course at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
Laura Schneiderhan has worked with directors such as Bernd Fischerauer, Georg Schmiedleitner, Reto Nickler, Simon Meusburger and Josef E. Köpplinger at venues such as the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, the Teatro Communale Bozen and the Neue Oper Wien (in cooperation with the Bregenz Festival). She has sung under conductors such as Christoph Meier, Andreas Kowalewitz, Marius Burkert and Walter Kobéra.
The second prize winner of the Gärtnerplatztheaterʼs MUT competition is active both on stage and in front of the camera, including in the female lead roles in the independent films »Lula & Miguel« (USA/Germany 2019) and »Why is everything so complicated sometimes« (Austria 2019).
She played the title role in Georg Kreislerʼs »Heute Abend: Lola Blau« at the Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck. For this role, she was awarded the »Austrian Music Theatre Prize’ in the category »Best Female Newcomer«.
In 2022, she appeared at the Vereinigte Bühnen Bozen in the opera »Blasmusikpop« (by Thomas Doss, based on the novel by Vea Kaiser and with a libretto by Silke Dörner), a co-production of the Bürgerkapelle Gries and the Vereinigte Bühnen Bozen. She also appeared in the world premiere of the opera Lorit at the Tyrolean State Theatre and the Vereinigte Bühnen Bozen, as well as in the in-house production »Freche Frauen« at the Kellertheater in Innsbruck. She made her directorial debut there in 2025 with Peter Quilterʼs two-person play »Snowed In«, which also had its Austrian premiere.
At the Gärtnerplatztheater, Laura Schneiderhan appeared in »A Little Night Music«, the world premieres of »Drei Männer im Schnee« and »Oh! Oh! Amelio!«, as well as in »The Pirates of Penzance«. She has been a permanent member of the ensemble since the 2025/2026 season.
