Jan Mikaela Villanueva

Born in the Philippines, Jan Mikaela Villanueva danced with Ballet Philippines for three seasons before completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with honours. In 2022, she joined the Akram Khan Company in London, with whom she danced as a soloist in numerous pieces, including Mowgli in »Jungle Book Reimagined« and »Thikra: The Night of Remembering«. She has also appeared in music videos and led various dance workshops in the UK, the Czech Republic and the Philippines. Jan Mikaela Villanueva has been a member of the ballet ensemble at Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz since the start of the 2025/2026 season.
