Ilia Staple

Austrian soprano Ilia Staple is a member of the Vienna State Opera ensemble, where she made her debut in 2022 as Adele (»Die Fledermaus«). Her repertoire includes roles such as the Queen of the Night (»Die Zauberflöte«), Gilda (»Rigoletto«), Musetta (»La bohème«), Gretel (»Hänsel und Gretel«), Sophie (»Werther«), Olympia (»Les Contes d’Hoffmann«) and Fiakermilli (»Arabella«). She has worked with conductors including Bertrand de Billy, Christian Thielemann, Philippe Jordan, Markus Poschner, Axel Kober, Simone Young and Marco Armiliato. In addition to her work on international opera stages, the Linz native is known for her vocal talent across genres. From 2018 to 2023, she was a member of the ensemble at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, where ‒ alongside the Queen of the Night, Gilda, Musetta, Gretel, Adele and Olympia ‒ she also performed as Ida (»Der junge Lord«), Franziska Cagliari (»Wiener Blut«) and Cunegonde (»Candide«).
