Ella Rothschild

The choreographer, multi-disciplinary artist, and dancer Ella Rothschild has performed with Inbal Pinto and Avshalom Pollak Dance Company, and Batsheva Dance Company under the artistic direction of Ohad Naharin. Currently, she is dancing for Crystal Pite and her ensemble Kidd Pivot. Since 2010, she has been creating her own works in collaboration with various artists from different disciplines. She received the Rosenblum Performing-Arts Award by the city of Tel-Aviv for promising creator of 2016, as well as the Ministry of Culture Award in Israel. In 2017 she received the Israeli Ministry of Culture Award for the best solo performer. Her works include: »Acord«, »12 Postdated Checks«, »Judah«, »Jesus with Soy«, »Flood«, »IMO the mouth is redundant«, »Feed«, »Timeline«, »Futuristic Space«, and »Formula« which premiered in the playhouse in Japan in 2022.

In 2020, Ella Rothschild received a residency at Baryshnikov art center (NYC) and was named an artist in residence in the Suzanne Dellal Centre’s inaugural residency program where she created her work »Pigulim«. She created in 2021 a trilogy of artworks for the Batsheva Dance Company: »Summer snow«, »On the edge of nowhere«, and »A Year Without Summer«. In 2022-2024 Rothschild completed trilogy of works: »Unpair«, »Milk Teeth«, and »The Guests« for Kammerballetten festival in Copenhagen. In 2023 Ella Rothschild created for the Royal Ballet of Flanders a new choreography for Stravinsky’s »Petrushka«, in 2024 »This Solution« for the Nederlands Dans Theater, and 2025 »Wounds of Autumn« commissioned by John Neumeier at the Baden-Baden Theater.
