David Jakobs

David Jakobs completed his training at the Folkwang University of the Arts. He is now one of the most versatile musical theater performers in the German-speaking world and has portrayed, among others, Quasimodo (»The Hunchback of Notre Dame«), Enjolras (»Les Misérables«), Che (»Evita«), Roger (»Rent«), Freddy Donath (»Ku’damm 56«), Frank W. Abagnale Jr. (»Catch Me If You Can«), Luigi Lucheni (»Elisabeth«), as well as the title roles in »Jekyll & Hyde« and in the world premiere of Frank Wildhorn’s »Einstein – A Matter of Time«.

David Jakobs has received numerous awards for his artistic work, including the »German Musical Award« in 2025 for »Best Leading Actor« for his portrayal of Albert Einstein, as well as the »Acting Award of the Bad Hersfeld Festival« for his role as Franz Moor in »Die Räuber«. Since 2024, he has also appeared regularly in German television productions.

At the Gärtnerplatztheater, he played Boris in the continental European premiere of »Chitty Chitty Bang Bang«, Claude in »Hair« and Judas in »Jesus Christ Superstar«.
