Brigitte Hobmeier

Brigitte Hobmeier was born in Munich in 1976 and studied acting at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen. From 1999 to 2001, she worked with directors such as Peter Stein and Klaus Michael Grüber, followed by her first permanent engagement at the Munich Volkstheater from 2002 to 2005. In 2004, she received the Bavarian Award for Performing Arts for her work there.

Since 2005, Brigitte Hobmeier has been a permanent member of the ensemble at the Munich Kammerspiele, where she has appeared in productions including »Susn« (2009), »Franziska« (2012), »Schande« (2013) and »Die Zofen« (2014). In the 2006/2007 season, she received the sponsorship award from the Association for the Promotion of the Munich Kammerspiele. She was awarded the German theatre prize »Faust« for her role in »Glaube Liebe Hoffnung« (2006) and received the Ulrich Wildgruber Prize in 2013. From 2013 to 2015, Brigitte Hobmeier played the role of Buhlschaft in »Jedermann« at Salzburger Festspiele.
