Anne Hinrichsen

Born in northern Germany, she studied piano in Lübeck and Freiburg before moving to Zurich to continue her training in orchestral piano and accompaniment at the Zurich Opera House Orchestra Academy. She has played with the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, the NDR Symphony Orchestra Hamburg, the Hamburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Lucerne Festival Orchestra, the Philharmonia Zurich and the Bern Symphony Orchestra, among others. Her extensive work as a piano accompanist led Anne Hinrichsen to the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), where she was employed as an accompanist and lecturer at the Precollege in the subject of sight-reading/accompaniment from 2007 to 2020. She also completed further training at the ZHdK in choral conducting, followed by further training in orchestral conducting, which she completed in 2017.

During the 2015/2016 and 2017/2018 seasons, Anne Hinrichsen worked at the Konzert Theater Bern as accompanist and musical director for the productions »The Medium« and »Ritter Odilo und der strenge Herr Winter«. In 2019, she worked there as musical assistant for the world premiere of »Humanoid« by Leonard Evers and conducted several performances. In 2019/2020, she took over the conducting duties for »Il barbiere di Siviglia« and the dance production »Swan«.

In 2020, Anne Hinrichsen joined Theater Bielefeld as director of studies and musical director, where she has held the position of coordinated principal conductor since the 2024/2025 season. In Bielefeld, she has since conducted productions from all areas of musical theatre, including »Dunkel ist die Nacht«, »Rigoletto«, »Rusalka«, »Odysseusʼ Heimkehr«, »The Goodbye Girl«, »Dear World«, »Cabaret«, »Winterreise«, »Berlin Alexanderplatz« (world premiere), »The Convert« (German premiere), »A Streetcar Named Desire«, »Zazà« and »La bohème«. She made guest appearances at the Komische Oper Berlin as musical director of the world premieres of »Die kleine Hexe« (2024) and »Konrad oder das Kind aus der Konservenbüchse« (2025).
