John Vooijs

The Dutch performer in musicals is familiar to German audiences primarily as Tarzan in the musical of the same name. In the Hamburg production, he alternated with Alexander Klaws in the role of the jungle hero. In the Netherlands, he has already appeared as Sky in the ABBA musical »Mamma Mia!« and as Galileo in the Queen musical »We Will Rock You«, amongst others.

After training in hairdressing and business at the Theaterakademie Amsterdam, he initially worked as an operational manager in a hairdressing salon. In parallel, he expressed his love of music as a singer, appearing in various festivals and dinner show events. He gave his first concert of his own in 2009. Finally, an appearance in a Dutch casting show brought him to the musical »Tarzan«. Vooijs also works as a singer and TV actor. Younger Dutch TV viewers will be familiar with his voice from the dubbed version of »Pokémon«.
